Story:
The national flag is rectangular and the ratio of length to width is 3:2. The flag is made up of two equal vertical rectangles, white on the left and red on the right. On the top left is a silver gray Georges cross with a red edge. White symbolizes purity, red symbolizes the blood of the warrior. Because the Maltese people fought bravely in the Second World War, they were awarded the cross by King George VI in 1942.
